The Lull Before the Storm
We have hoped to have a full crew in today, hammering in all the manual data from the old system into our new system. As I described in yesterday’s post, that was not to be.
Probably just as well. I decided to give everyone the weekend off. I hope they can relax, enjoy the Superbowl and be ready to hit the ground running on Monday.
I spent some time with one of my crew reviewing the issues list, closing or advancing quite a few (Hurray!) and then we tried a little side project. Quite honestly, this was a casual diversion, not really a “mission critical” deal. It was a sort of fun attempt a installing our issues management system, vTiger, on a more lightly loaded Linux box. Well, we screwed around with it for a couple of hours, had some success, but in the end failed to get it up and running. C’est la vie.
I guess I will stop into the office for a while tomorrow…I really need some time actually working in the new system. But, in the end, I think I will try and take my own advice. Try to relax and enjoy the festivities and root for the Cardinals.
3 more days to go….
